Active from 2008 to 2013, we have presented over 300 workshops, talks, and concerts in Canada, the United States and Europe.
Our History
As our home base was in Montréal QC, our projects benefited from the vibrant and active multi-disciplinary arts community in Montréal. Shaped by a city where languages met and mingled, where sonic cultural histories were shared on a daily basis, and where artistic collaboration was second nature, community and accessibility are at the heart of Caribou Sonore’s work, all housed under the umbrella of education.
By offering both formal and informal educational initiatives — whether through a workshop series or an artist talk — we sought to provide learning opportunities to young artists as well as those without a formal artistic background, offering greater opportunities for creative exploration and development.
Through concert presentations, we created a web of shared creative expression — through institutional partnerships and long-term relationships with artists, international and local. By presenting innovative and diverse programs on various stages throughout Montréal, we sought to broaden the scope of the artistic conversation taking place, bringing new voices to the table, and creating and holding shared space.
